Weak demand and intense competition have lead to uncoated woodfree paper price deterioration in Italy this month, and manufacturers’ order books are not strong enough to restore the market anytime soon, reported Euwid on June 25.
Prices for offset reels and offset sheets in Italy were off to a minor extent in June, but Italian copier paper prices were under more pressure, causing the typical gap in prices for copier paper grades B and C to narrow, especially involving white boxes.
The pressure on Italian copier paper prices is coming from outside the country as Italian producers face strong competitive forces. A price war is under way and involves several European and overseas producers, Euwid reported.
