LAS VEGAS , June 6, 2013 (press release) – Strategic Placement Unifies Exhibitors By Product Categories & Themes

International Market Centers announced today that it is expanding and realigning its temporary gift and home décor exhibition space onto three floors of Building C during the Summer 2013 Las Vegas Market, running July 29-August 2, at World Market Center Las Vegas. Originally planned for just two floors, now more than 95,000 square feet of temporary exhibition space on three floors – C5, C10 and C11 – will house some 325 temporary exhibitors in 10 distinct, themed product sections, including GIFT, GLOBAL, GOURMET, HOME, MADE, STYLE, TEXTILES, TREND, VINTAGE and CARRY!.

“Our primary goal with this strategic realignment is to expand the positive synergies between temporary exhibitors and permanent showrooms,” explained Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “By emphasizing adjacencies of related categories of temporary and permanent resources, we are creating a dynamic, and seamless, shopping experience for buyers and maximizing the cross-marketing opportunities for vendors.”

Four home décor categories of temporary exhibits will be housed on floor C5: HOME, featuring accent décor, accent furniture and other decorative items; TEXTILES, showcasing trend-focused textiles including decorative pillows, throws, draperies, fabric and bedding; STYLE, spotlighting a juried collection of progressive and design-focused home décor, accent furniture, and textiles; and MADE, featuring handmade ceramics, pottery, home décor, letterpress, apparel and jewelry. Temporary exhibitors in these four categories will complement the growing number of better home décor permanent showrooms located on floors C3 and C4.

Notable temporary exhibitors in the TEXTILES category on C5 include Amity Home, Cottonbelle, Jiti and Softline Home Fashions; along with a number of first-time exhibitors including 425 South, Jellybean, Pillow Bar, Scents and Feel, Sustainable Threads and Tourance. New and noteworthy temporary exhibitors in the HOME category include Continental Home, Eangee, and OnTour Golfwear. Notable temporary exhibitors in the STYLE segment on C5 include Authentic Models, Couleur and Red Horse Signs, along with new exhibitors Nicahome and Original Charleston Bedswing. Additionally, the MADE exhibition, a “show within a show” spotlighting handcrafted, artisanal products across the gift and home décor spectrum, welcomes noteworthy companies Aviologie, Bella Esse and Maurice Milleur.

Five lifestyle-focused categories will be housed on floor C11: GIFT, highlighting traditional and specialty giftware including garden, plush, toy, seasonal, decorative gifts, spa, souvenir, inspirational, resort specialty, jewelry, accessories and apparel; GLOBAL, presenting unique products from around the world with an emphasis on fairly traded products, social responsibility and global community development; GOURMET, featuring a range of specialty foods, cookware, and kitchen accessories; VINTAGE, a selection of repurposed and recycled home décor, furnishings, jewelry, clothing and one-of-a-kind memorabilia; and CARRY!, offering an assortment of “cash and carry” merchandise across all product categories.

Temporary exhibitors in these five categories will complement this summer’s debut of the Lifestyle Collection of permanent showrooms on C10 and also augment the diverse array of gift and lifestyle permanent showrooms located on floors C6, C7, C8 and C9. As part of this transformation, GOURMET will be relocated from the rear section of floor C11 to the front atrium.

Returning exhibitors in the relocated GOURMET section include Pacific NW Gourmet and Picnic Time; new exhibitors include Grainware and s.a.l.t. sisters. A number of new exhibitors are being featured in the GLOBAL temporary category on C11, including Asylum Down, Bridge for Africa, Design Africa, SeaStra and Swahili Imports. New and noteworthy exhibitors in the VINTAGE category include Chery Long – Pure West, French at Heart, Monahan Papers, My Mother’s Buttons and Tara Gasparian Jewelry Design. Other notable exhibitors who will be showing in the GIFT segment on C11 include Creative Gifts, Giftcraft, Madison Park Group, Primitives by Kathy and Sheas Wildflowers; newcomers include Bling Baby Gear, CTW Home Collection, Sophisticated Style, Sweet Bubble and Zappo BZ.

The TREND category, which spotlights “ahead of the curve” products showcasing innovation, whimsy, or humor in multiple categories, including stationery, home accessories and lifestyle décor products, will be positioned on floor C10 alongside lifestyle-oriented permanent showrooms. More than 20 fashion-forward lifestyle companies are expected to exhibit in the TREND segment on C10, including returning exhibitor Papyrus Recycled Greetings and new exhibitors Jessie Steele and Rustico Leather.

A wide variety of special activities are being planned in the temporary exhibition space for the benefit and enjoyment of market participants. Award-winning artist and author Kathy Cano-Murillo, the “Crafty Chica,” is returning to Las Vegas Market to present live craft demonstrations as part of the MADE category on C5; and daily hospitality events, such as “happy hour” cocktail receptions and free massage stations, will be presented within the temporary exhibits on floors C4 and C10. All market-sponsored hospitality is free to attendees.
