Finnish Keitele Group to double glulam production capacity to 200,000m3/year, plans to install second press line, third lamella dryer in summer 2013

LOS ANGELES , January 23, 2013 () – The Finnish Keitele Group plans to double production at its glulam plant to around 200,000m3/year with the installation of a second press line in summer 2013, according to a report by German industry news service Euwid.

The company will also install a third dryer to meet the increased requirement for dry lamellas.

The Keitele Group, based in Keitele, Finland, is part of Keitele Forest Oy and includes sawmilling company Keitele Timber Oy, a further processing unit Keitele Forest Wood Production, and glulam manufacturing plant Keitele Engineered Wood Oy, according to the company's Website. Keitele Energy Oy supplies all the group's energy requirements from sawmilling residues.

The glulam plant is JAS-certified and designed for the production of Japanese beams, Euwid reported.
