Kent, Ohio-based Carter Lumber Co. is planning to split all the stores in its Carter Lumber division into two regions managed by regional VPs Kip Gleckler and Al Price, Home Channel News reported Sept. 28.
The building materials retailer has also formed a new unit to serve the Columbus, Ohio, market under the Holmes Lumber brand name. This unit will operate out of three of the company’s existing facilities in Plain City, Reynoldsburg and Sunbury, Ohio.
Will Ruschman, Carter Lumber’s former district manager of Columbus, Ohio, will serve as the company’s General Manager for the Columbus market. He will report to Holmes Lumber VP Steve Miller.
Carter Lumber is further aiming to increase its presence along the U.S. Eastern seaboard. It has recently appointed 30-year veteran of the lumber and building materials industry Harry Streyle as district manager. Streyle, whose career has included stints with ProBuild and as an area VP for 84 Lumber, will focus on increasing Carter Lumber’s market share in the markets of Maryland, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Home Channel News noted.
All six of Carter Lumber’s retail divisions will continue to operate under their original brand names.
