MCLEAN, Virginia, and STEVENAGE, England , June 11, 2012 (press release) – Concept Searching, a global leader in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management software, and developer of the Smart Content Framework™, is pleased to announce that KapStone Kraft Paper Mill, located in Charleston, SC and part of the KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation, has selected conceptClassifier for SharePoint to significantly improve issues surrounding findability and search.

KapStone's end users were unable to return precise information at retrieval time, due to the lack of meaningful metadata being applied to documents, the lack of auto-classification of content, and the limitations of simple key word searching techniques. Concept Searching implemented its technology in MOSS 2007 to tag content, assist with migration of content to SharePoint, and classify content and align it to business goals, thereby improving relevant search of content on the KapStone corporate intranet.

KapStone reviewed a number of SharePoint solutions and chose conceptClassifier for SharePoint for a number of reasons, including proven deployments in both MOSS 2007 and SharePoint 2010, clients using FAST search and SharePoint search, a strong client base in the US, a comprehensive integration partner structure, and finally Concept Searching's reputation as an industry technology leader and a profitable vendor in business since 2003.

According to Martin Garland, President of ConceptSearching, "Wins such as this, head to head against competitive offerings, continue to support the fact that conceptClassifier for SharePoint is the most robust third party solution for metadata tagging, auto-classification and taxonomy management in SharePoint. The platform affords growth for KapStone, enabling deployment to assist with governance and compliance around documents of record."

Concept Searching deployed its Smart Content Framework™ technology, incorporating conceptClassifier to provide an easy to implement and maintain categorization descriptor table, through which all rules and terms can be define, to deliver to the KapStone Kraft Paper Mill the capacity to rapidly deploy and easily manage its taxonomy.

"We are delighted to have worked with KapStone to solve their classification and search challenges," said Martin Garland, President of Concept Searching. "The uniqueness of our Smart Content Framework™ coupled with our technology, allows clients to address specific challenges they are trying to solve. In the case of KapStone, it is implementing two of the initial building blocks of the framework: Metadata to enable the proactive management of content and development of taxonomies, and Insight to rapidly find relevant information for search transparency," he concluded.
