Ilim Group allocates 107M Russian rubles in 2012 for reforestation of 41,000 hectares

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia , June 6, 2012 (press release) – In early May Ilim Group launched annual reforestation projects on leased timberland in the Irkutsk, Arkhangelsk, Vologda Oblasts, the Komi Republic and Krasnoyarsk Territory. Reforestation with over RUB 107 million earmarked for the purpose will embrace an area of more than 41,000 ha.

RUB 69 million has been earmarked for artificial renewal of forests. Work will be carried out in Koryazhma, Bratsk, and Ust-Ilimsk Forest over an area of over 34,000 ha and will include planting of forest crops on pre-treated soil. A total of 4 million 700 thousand pine and spruce seedlings and over 1.5 tons of seeds will be planted.

About RUB 40mln is earmarked for young forest care over an area of about 7,000 ha.
