During the first half of 2011-2012, Australia grocer Woolworths Supermarkets, which is owned by Woolworths Limited, unveiled 100 new private label liquors, My Private Brand reported March 4.
During this same period, the company's liquor sales rose to AU$3.6 billion.
The company reported that the total volume of its Private Brand label that was supplied by Gage Roads increased by more than 70% during this six-month period.
Woolworth’s liquor business experienced strong growth in all brands during this half of the year, and gained additional market share despite price deflation and competitors’ increased activity during the Christmas period.
