Ferrero to invest US$190M to build new production plant in San Josè Iturbide, Mexico; plant will make, Kinder, Nutella products

FINDEL, Luxembourg , February 27, 2012 (press release) – On Wednesday 22nd February, 2012, the President of the Mexican Republic, Mr. Felipe Calderon, during a press conference in Guanajuato, announced that Ferrero will invest 190 million dollars for building a new plant at the Parque Opcòn industrial park, in San Josè Iturbide in the State of Guanajuato in Mexico.

The new production plant will manufacture the new Kinder and Nutella products, for the local market and for export to North America (USA and Canada). The plant will start its production from May 2013 and, when at full rate, it will employ 500 persons besides the 600 already working for B.U. Ferrero de Mexico, with the purpose to further grow in the years to come.

Amongst other personalities, also Mr. Giuseppe D’Angelo, responsible of Ferrero for the Anglo-Americas area, and Mr. Roberto Spinelli, the Ambassador representing Italy in Mexico, participated to the press conference.
