Diamond Wipes, U.S. manufacturer of hot and cold disposable wet wipes, completes construction of solar energy installation for its Southern California manufacturing facility, expects to generate 548,544 kWh/year

CHINO, California , January 23, 2012 (press release) – Diamond Wipes International (DWI) (www.DiamondWipes.com), the original US manufacturer of hot and cold disposable wet wipes, announces a bold leap forward in its green initiative. DWI has completed construction of its 3,360 panel clean energy solar installation, which is expected to generate 548,544 kilowatt hours of electricity per year for its Southern California manufacturing facility. "As business continues to grow, I've become increasingly attuned to the near and long term impact DWI may have on the environment," states Eve Yen, President and Founder of DWI. "As a good corporate citizen, I want to do everything I can to support eco-conscious behaviors and practices." DWI has already begun utilizing its new clean energy system, offsetting up to 86% of its primary factory's energy utilization away from traditional electric.

DWI also announces green product news with the launch of two eco-friendly dining wipes, known in the restaurant industry as 'oshibori.' "My company began as an oshibori manufacturer catering to the restaurant industry. Over time, we have grown to produce about a million oshibori wipes per day," comments Yen. "In any given year, we could be responsible for thousands of tons of material for oshibori restaurant wipes alone." That realization prompted Yen to develop two oshibori house brands to be completely green: 'Naturally Yours' premium wipes and 'Warm Welcome' economy wipes. These wipes are made of biodegrade, compostable, FSC-approved cloth. The wrappers are made of recyclable OPP (oriented polypropylene) monolayer film, and the formulas contain 99.9% natural ingredients. Interested wholesale buyers should contact DWI Sales, 1-800-454-1077.
