U.S. online sales among the top 50 e-retailers tracked by payment processing company Chase Paymentech totaled nearly US$1.08 billion from Dec. 19-Dec. 21, typically the last days that gifts could be ordered in time for Christmas arrival, Internet Retailer reported Dec. 23.
The figure represents a 26.7% increase from the same period last year. The retailers have seen a 25% sales surge this holiday season, according to Chase Paymentech.
