The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service has decided to continue with its imposition of anti-dumping measures aimed at U.S. and Japanese manufacturers of polyvinyl chloride, Plastics News reported Nov. 18.
The agency said that U.S. PVC exporters would resume undercutting other imports in the Australian market and significantly undercut Australia’s selling prices if the measures were lifted.
The measures will remain in place for another five years, Plastics News reported.
ACBPS said that the country’s sole PVC producer, Australian Vinyls Corp. Pty Ltd would be vulnerable to further injury should the Australian market deteriorate more or if there were any added pressures.
