India's Drugs Control Department confiscated a large number of counterfeit cosmetics in several shops during a statewide raid in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram district, The Hindu reported Nov. 11.
Also seized in the raid were similar products that had a missing product name or label.
Targeting counterfeit cosmetics and toiletries is a first for the Drugs Control authorities in the state, according to the publication.
Product samples were being sent to a team of chemical analysts for review, The Hindu reported.
