LOS ANGELES , November 3, 2011 () – Building materials supplier Wolseley Plc. says its sourcing managers and environmental specialists have begun working more closely together to develop systems ensuring the company's wood products are ethically sourced, Purcon reported Nov. 3.

The European Union (EU) plans to implement tight requirements on suppliers of timber and timber products beginning March 2013, reported Purcon.

Wolseley said in its Corporate Responsibility report that it expects its existing framework will be adaptable to the new requirements.

Wolseley, which has its corporate headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, is the world's largest specialist trade distributor of plumbing and heating products to professional contractors and a leading supplier of building materials in North America, the U.K. and Continental Europe, its website states.
