Tekni-Plex Inc. announced that it has opened a new technology center in Holland, Ohio, that is aimed at helping speed up its new product development globally, Plastics News reported on Oct. 13.
The new facility includes laboratories for analyzing and testing produce performance, as well as pilot-scale equipment for extrusion, co-extrusion, extrusion coating, extrusion lamination and lamination.
It will allow the King of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based company more freedom to “innovate at the business-unit level,” improve its product lines and create new ones, according to Phil Bourgeois, VP of global technology and regulatory affairs for Tekni-Plex, in a news release.
Bourgeois will manage the new facility.
Tekni-Plex, which has 26 plants on four continents, makes closure lining materials, barrier film laminates, medical and dispensing tubing, compounds, rubber and plastic gaskets, foam food cartons and trays, reported Plastics News.
