TPC Group appoints Michael S. White senior VP, operations, effective around Oct. 24; White previously held executive positions in SunCoke Energy, Sunoco

HOUSTON , October 7, 2011 (press release) – TPC Group Inc. (Nasdaq:TPCG - News), a leading producer of value-added products derived from niche petrochemical raw materials such as C4 hydrocarbons, announced today that Michael S. White has been appointed to the role of Senior Vice President -- Operations, with an anticipated start date on or about October 24, 2011.

Mike McDonnell, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "I am very pleased to have Mike join our management team. He brings a proven track record in driving best-in-class operations and implementing large capital projects. In his most recent position, Mr. White was Senior Vice President, Operations for SunCoke Energy from July 2008 where he played a key leadership role in the planning, construction and start-up of three greenfield manufacturing plants with a total investment of approximately one billion dollars. Prior to that, he served as Sunoco's vice president of Chemicals Manufacturing since July 2003. From 1989 until 2003, he served in various senior operations management roles with Lyondell-Equistar (now, LyondellBasell Industries NV). Mr. White holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
