Contego Packaging Group plans to install a Komori printing press at its new carton production facility in Fareham, England, reported Printweek on Sept. 8.
Previously Nampak Healthcare, Contego will install a Lithrone GL40 six-color and coat press with Komori print inspection system, a Bobst expertcut 106 PER Blanking machine and a Kodak CTP device, PrintWeek reported.
Contego said the new investments would help it meet long- and short-run work requirements. Contego CEO Tom Reid estimated that the capacity would grow by 25% at the new site compared with the current site in Portsmouth, England.
The company will move its headquarters to the new 50,000 square foot Fareham facility by the end of November and employ over 100 workers. All current employees at the Portsmouth, England, were given the option to transfer to the new site.
Contego Packaging was acquired by Platinum Equity LLC in March. It operates from 10 European facilities, manufacturing cartons, leaflets, labels and blister pack foils for the pharmaceutical industry, reported Printweek.
