The U.S. Forest Service is seeking public comment on a proposal by Black Hills Power to construct and operate a transmission line from northeastern Wyoming to Rapid City.
The Rapid City Journal reports (http://bit.ly/oQzJ7B ) that Forest Service officials have scheduled meetings on the proposed line for Rapid City and Newcastle, Wyo. The first meeting is Sept. 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hell Canyon Ranger District office in Newcastle. The second meeting is Sept. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mystic Ranger District office Rapid City.
The line would cross parts of the Black Hills National Forest and private lands in South Dakota, and parts of the Thunder Basin National Grasslands, private lands, Bureau of Land Management lands and state lands in Wyoming.
