Kraft Foods investing US$36M to build Trostyanets, Ukraine, biscuit plant, expected to begin operations in Q4 2011

LOS ANGELES , August 30, 2011 () – Kraft Foods Inc. says it will invest US$36 million this year to construct biscuit factory in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported Aug. 30.

The new factory in Trostyanets, in central Ukraine, is expected to begin operating in the fourth quarter of 2011, said Taras Lukachuk, chief executive officer for Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe.

The company already has two plants in Trostyanets that make chocolate and coffee, plus a plant near Kiev thta makes potato chips.
