SOFIA, Bulgaria , July 18, 2011 () – Carlsberg Bulgaria has brought its Tuborg Premium lager to market in Bulgaria in 1-litre polyethylene terephthalate bottles, Sofia News Agency reported July 18.

The new format, according to Carlsberg Bulgaria, is more sustainable than glass since it has a smaller carbon footprint, according to the article.

The PET bottles to be marketed in Bulgaria will be manufactured at Bulgaria’s Shumen brewery. Bulgaria is the first southeastern European country where the company has marketed the Tuborg 1-liter PET bottle.
