The Washington Forest Protection Association (WFPA) is holding its 102nd annual meeting on Wednesday, November 17, at the Indian Summer Golf & Country Club in Olympia. The meeting will feature a series of panels and presentations focusing on ideas to help our state grow its economy, through use of wood products.
The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. and will include notable presentations from Washington State legislative leadership, business and conservation leaders and state government agency directors. There will be a special presentation from notable economist, Dr. Bill Conerly.
"In these challenging economic and political times, it is important to work together to find solutions to maintain our high environmental standards and promote job growth in our State," said WFPA Executive Director Mark Doumit.
The agenda features speakers and panels on the following topics:
Washington Forest Protection Association is a trade association representing private forest landowners in Washington State. Our members are large and small companies, individuals and families who grow and harvest trees on more than 4 million acres. WFPA was originally established in 1908 as a fire protection association. Today we work toward balance in forest policies and opening new markets for the conservation value of forests. This is to encourage continuing investment in forestland and establishment of sustainable forestry as a preferred land use for the protection of fish, water and wildlife and promote responsible forest management as a preferred land use.
