VANCOUVER, British Columbia , May 19, 2010 (press release) – PAKIT Inc., a leading clean technology company that has developed a patented, industry-changing disruptive technology, today announced that its first two packaging machines sold to Spain's Grupo San Cayetano have passed the Factory Acceptance Test. Cayetano, a world leader in packaging engineering and design, has embraced this Canadian/Swedish technology as a sustainable alternative to plastics and other unsustainable packaging.

"We are thrilled to be making delivery on these machines," says Brian Birmingham, President and Chief Executive Officer of PAKIT. "Cayetano's commitment to our clean technology is a testament to our belief that moulded board will be part of the future of packaging."

PAKIT's moulded board products are biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable. They are also thinner and offer a superior, smooth exterior surface, significantly improving logo and advertising print quality compared to other sustainable competitors. The technology makes it possible to form products with complicated shapes, from compartmental plates, clamshells and trays for the food industry to protective packaging for the electronics and pharmaceutical industries, with little or no risk of cracking or deformation. The natural advantage of fibre, with its highly dense fibre network, results in a product that is smooth, rigid, and resistant to moisture and grease. Products can be manufactured using a wide variety of virgin and recycled natural fibres and can go from freezer to microwave to oven with minimal loss of integrity.

Given the success of product trials with Cayetano, companies in North America, Asia and Europe are now exploring new ways of packaging through PAKIT.

"We are honoured to have had the support of our shareholders and stakeholders as PAKIT has grown through the trials of developing and introducing a world-class, industry-changing technology to the market," says Birmingham. "Without that support, this company would not be where it is today, leading the world in sustainable packaging."
