Spenard Builders Supply (SBS), Alaska's largest building materials supplier, announced today that it is expanding its presence in Anchorage through its purchase of Curtis & Campbell, Inc., a provider of flooring and paint, and Wallcoverings North, Inc., a provider of fabrics and hospitality design services. Both companies will continue to operate at their current 6239 B Street location in Anchorage and will be operated as a new division that will work in conjunction with the SBS Design Center, Spenard's cabinet, appliance and floor covering facility located at 4500 Lois Drive.
"Wallcoverings North is the only design center in Alaska where decorators and clients can meet to select fabrics, wall coverings and fixtures," said Ed Waite, president of SBS. "As Anchorage continues to grow, the demand for quality design services grows with it. We couldn't be happier about adding these fine companies to the Spenard family." Curtis & Campbell has been owned and operated by brothers Dale and Bill Campbell since its founding in 1966. Wallcoverings North, founded in 1975, has been led by Sharon Campbell, Bill Campbell's wife. "The Campbell family has built two very successful companies on the principles of exceptional customer service and quality products," continued Waite. "Spenard Builders Supply shares in the Campbell's commitment to customers and employees. We are very pleased that the family will continue to play an active role in the store operations."
