Firefighters have spent several hours battling a blaze at a northeastern Indiana sawmill.
The fire that was reported about 1 a.m. Wednesday has destroyed some buildings at the Cedar Creek Sawmill near the Allen County town of Grabill.
St. Joseph Township fire chief David Ringer tells WANE-TV (http://bit.ly/1hMeJq1 ) that arriving crews found one building already fully engulfed in flames. He says winds and flammable materials in and around the building quickly fueled the flames.
Flames perhaps 50 feet into the air could be seen for miles around in the area northeast of Fort Wayne.
The fire was burning more than four hours later, but Ringer says firefighters were able to save a nearby house and some of the sawmill's buildings.
No injuries were immediately reported.
