The prices of farm produce in China rose moderately in the week ending November 3, the Ministry of Commerce said on its website Tuesday.
Wholesale prices of the 18 kinds of vegetables monitored edged up 0.8 percent last week, while the price of pork, the country's staple meat, dipped 0.3 percent, the ministry said
Meanwhile, egg prices fell 0.4 percent from a week earlier while chicken prices kept unchanged week on week.
Food has an about one-third weight in calculating China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation. The country's CPI rose 3.1 percent year on year in September, up from 2.6 percent in August. (Edited by Liu Xiaoyun, liuxy08@xinhua.org)
