Eska Graphic Board, a Netherlands-based producer of 100% recycled paperboard, is to be acquired by private-equity firm Andlinger & Co., reported Euwid on Nov. 6.
The transaction is expected to be completed soon and has already been approved by the local works council. The value of the deal was not revealed.
Eska has two paper mills, one each in Hoogezand and Sappemeer, Netherlands, with combined capacity to produce up to 250,000 tonnes/year of graphic paperboard used in luxury packaging, displays, book covers, jigsaw puzzles and games.
Andlinger intends to help Eska continue with its strategy for international growth and will keep current management on after the takeover, Euwid reported.
The company, which is now owned by H2 Equity Partners, sells 95% of its product on the export market through a distribution network that spans Germany, Italy, Spain, the U.K., the U.S. and Singapore.
In 2012, Eska generated about €141 million (US$190.7 million) in sales. It employs about 350 people at its paperboard mills and another 100 people at its sales and service centers, reported Euwid.
