Utah's state forester to retire in December after 40-year career
Dick Buehler will leave his job in mid-December. He's had a 40-year career with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. Buehler started out in 1973 as a boating ranger at East Canyon State Park. The same year, he joined the forestry division. He held jobs in law enforcement, wildfire investigation, as deputy director and finally director and state forester. The Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands is looking for a replacement to manage Utah's sovereign lands and watersheds.
