The U.S.-Mexico Consultative Committee on Agriculture recently agreed to improve/streamline border inspection and strengthen cooperation of food safety health issues. The committee also agreed to continue joint programs to control and eradicate animal diseases requiring periods of quarantine and to begin working to standardize certification procedures for organic products.
