China sold a total of 11.18 million metric tons (tonnes) of sugar in the October to July period, the first 10 months of the 2012-13 marketing year, a jump of 29.4 percent over the same period of the previous crop year, according to the latest data from the China Sugar Association released on Tuesday.
The country had completed sugar crushing for the crop year of 2012-13 by the end of June and totally produced 13.07 million tonnes of sugar, up 13.45 percent year on year.
The sales to output ratio came to 85.54 percent by the end of last month, compared with 75.02 percent in the same period of the preceding crushing season.
