Colgate-Palmolive issued US patent for fragrance compositions for kitchen cleaning, deodorizing products

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia , March 27, 2013 (U.S. Fed News) – United States Patent no. 8,404,630, issued on March 26, was assigned to Colgate-Palmolive Co. (New York).

"Fragrance compositions that reduce or eliminate malodor, related methods and related cleaning compositions" was invented by Joan E. Gambogi (Hillsborough, N.J.), Mary C. Brauchli (Maplewood, N.J.), Gary J. Marr (Princeton Junction, N.J.) and Robert C. Vermeer (Columbus, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fragrance composition for control of kitchen malodor, kitchen cleaning and deodorizing products comprising them, and methods for the reduction of malodor utilizing them, the fragrance composition comprising a decyl aldehyde; an allyl amyl glycolate; cis-3-hexenyl acetate; a rose oxide; a terpinolene; and 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexene-1-carbaldehyde."

The patent was filed on Sept. 3, 2009, under Application No. 12/553,165.
