A blaze on July 6 at Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget's (SCA) hygiene products mill in Flintshire, Wales, United Kingdom, was quickly extinguished by the facility’s on-site fire safety team before firefighters arrived, and there was no effect on production, the Flintshire Chronicle reported on the same date.
Given such a large amount of paper at the site, fire crews remained at the scene as precaution.
It is believed that an electrical fault caused the smoldering in a machinery room. There was no damage to the building.
There were no injuries.
Mill manager Jim Lang commended the mill’s fire safety team for its efficiency in handling the incident.
