Regional editions of the White Pages and Yellow Pages book, plus books in Canberra, Gold Coast, Newcastle and Darwin/Alice Springs will change to the larger-size format next year in response to user and customer feedback received to date, Sensis announced today.
The 2013/2014 White Pages and Yellow Pages books are scheduled to be distributed in all of these areas around Australia between March 2013 and July 2013.
Sensis Executive General Manager, Product, Carl Rigoni, said the change follows a review of responses from users and advertisers about the compact-size book.
“We listen to feedback from our users and advertisers to help us make informed decisions about ways to improve the White Pages and Yellow Pages book.”
“We believe most people prefer a book that is lighter and easier to handle, but in order to publish a book in this format we need to alter the font size.”
“We’ll continue to develop a solution that satisfies these requirements, but in the meantime the regional books will appear in the larger size format.”
Mr Rigoni said Sensis will conduct ongoing research in to find a format for the directories that balanced comprehensive content with format and font size.
It’s reaffirmed to Sensis that many people around Australia rely on the White Pages and Yellow Pages book. Clearly, the book plays a vital role in many local communities, helping people find a local business or residential or government contact information.”
Due to production timelines, copies of the compact 2012/2013 White Pages and Yellow Pages book remain to be distributed to some regional areas in Australia.
These include: Great Northern (WA), Bendigo, Campbelltown, Bega, Central Coast (NSW), Darwin/Alice Springs, Central and East (WA), Wagga Wagga, Nowra, Goulburn, South Western, Bairnsdale, Mornington, Geelong, Warragul, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Newcastle.
