The Directors of Asia Packaging Group are pleased to announce a change to the directorships. The Company announces the appointment of Brian Birmingham as Vice President and Director, and the appointment of George Dorin as non-executive Director. The Company announces the resignation of Hao (Joseph) King Lau as Director, and Terry Tang as Director.
Mr. Birmingham has a proven track record in management, technology and venture capital, with more than 20 years experience as a senior executive in the packaging and molded pulp manufacturing industries. He was the Founder and President of Impact Packaging, where he headed a team that built the world's largest pulp molding facility. He was also instrumental in taking several new companies from start-up to commercial development, including building Canada's largest recreational vehicle company. During his impressive career, Brian Birmingham has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of six large companies in both the private and public sectors, and has been a member of the board of directors of three multinational corporations.
Mr. Dorin has 30 years of broad-based financial experience, including 15 years as a Corporate Director or CFO for several private and public companies. He holds undergraduate degrees in Science and Accounting from the University of BC, a Masters Degree in Finance from the London School of Economics, and the Diploma FCSI. A Chartered Accountant, he was also granted a CF specialist designation from the CICA in 2008. Prior to his work in industry, he worked in the financial services sector with Ernst & Whinney (now KPMG), Price Waterhouse, Royal Bank of Canada, and with Pemberton Securities (now RBC Dominion Securities). In 2007 and 2008 he was a Senior VP Corporate Finance at Wolrige Mahon, a BC-based CA Firm. Most recently, he has been providing corporate finance, senior financial management, and corporate director (including audit committee chairman) services to several industrial public companies through his own company CANUS Capital Corporation.
