McDonald's launches new McCafe Cherry Berry Chiller at its U.S. locations; product available through Sept. 3 at suggested retail price starting at US$1.69

PHILADELPHIA , May 7, 2012 (press release) – Fresh berries and seasonal fruit flavors are now on the menu at Philadelphia region McDonald's restaurants as the company introduces its new McCafe Cherry Berry Chiller. As part of McDonald's 'Flavors of Summer' limited time menu line-up, this new option offers the delicious tastes of summer's seasonal fruit.

Available nationwide beginning today, McDonald's McCafe Cherry Berry Chiller is made to order with 100 percent fruit juice with natural flavors, combining the sweetness of cherries and raspberries in a refreshing, sippable icy blend. The McCafe Cherry Berry Chiller is available all day at McDonald's restaurants nationwide through September 3, while supplies last. At suggested retail prices starting at $1.69, the Cherry Berry Chiller is a convenient and affordable way to refresh, relax and "chill" this summer.

To celebrate this new product launch, customers in the Philadelphia region can enjoy a small McCafe Cherry Berry Chiller for $1.00 from May 9 – 13! Additionally, "Cherry Berry Campus Chill" events will be held at local universities over the summer. The events will feature "chill stations," offering students and faculty an opportunity to relax and cool off with Cherry Berry Chiller samples. Sampling events will also take place in Philadelphia on May 10 (15th and Market Streets, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) and May 11 (3rd and Market Streets, 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. & Citizens Bank Park, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.).

Cherry Berry Chiller is the latest new beverage to join the McCafe menu, which features a variety of delicious offerings including McCafe Real Fruit Smoothies and McCafe espresso drinks such as Frappes, Lattes and Mochas, Brewed Iced Coffees and Premium Roast Coffee. McCafe Frozen Strawberry Lemonade has also returned for a limited time this summer.
