As part of an effort to broaden their global perspective and establish a more responsible corporate strategy, Danish brewer Carlsberg Group has nominated two women -- Donna Cordner and Elisabeth Fleuriot -- to its Board of Directors, Reuters reported Feb. 27.
Cordner has been serving as a non-executive director with Millicom International Cellular SA. Fleuriot has been serving at Kellogg Co. as a vice president and a senior vice president for emerging markets.
Although women have previously been elected to the board by employees, this is the first time that Carlsberg has nominated women to serve on the board. By 2015, Carlsberg aims to have a board in which women constitute 40% or more of the board members.
Carlberg is also aiming to increase the percentage of board members that have significant international experience to at least 50%.
