Eastern Millwork of Jersey City, New Jersey, expects to be fully operational at its new facility in Bayonne next year, according to a report by The Jersey Journal.
Eastern Millwork's president and CEO Andrew Campbell said he expected the negotiation process will take another two to three months, followed by construction and renovation of facility which is expected to take between six and nine months.
Eastern Millwork's workforce of around 60 will work at the new headquarters, which will be expanded from the current 40,000 sq. ft. Ideal Window Manufacturing building to 60,000 sq. ft. Campbell said more workers could be taken on once the expansion is complete.
Campbell said his company had intended to stay in Jersey City, but the number of industrial location options were limited. He said the Bayonne site offered an optimal combination of accessibility and affordability, and was near a Light Rail station, making it easily accessible to young people who may form part of the company's workforce.
