George Linardos, a veteran of Nokia, joins Time Inc.’s Consumer Marketing division as Senior Vice President, Digital Marketing and Business Development. Linardos begins November 1 and will report to Steve Sachs, Executive Vice President of Consumer Marketing and Sales at Time Inc.
Linardos is charged with developing Time Inc.’s digital marketing to drive more consumers to the company’s print and digital products. This includes expanding digital marketing channels, developing marketing capabilities on tablet and mobile platforms, utilizing social media to sell content, and implementing new email marketing strategies aimed at driving sales.
Linardos will also direct digital business development, with a focus on new partnerships that will increase sales of Time Inc.’s digital products. An expert in e-commerce, Linardos will develop a roadmap for e-commerce sales of digital content.
“Time Inc. is quickly emerging as the digital leader in our industry, with our recent editorial commitment to launch all titles on tablets, as well as our All Access subscription model,” said Steve Sachs. “George’s expertise in emerging mobile platforms and e-commerce will be a tremendous asset as Time Inc. makes headway in digital development.”
Prior to joining Time Inc., Linardos was the Vice President, Products in the Services Division of Nokia. In this role, Linardos led the creation of Nokia’s global mobile application distribution group, and Nokia’s appstore, which currently serves over 7 million downloads per day, is localized in 30+ languages, integrated into the billing systems of over 120 operators worldwide, and has an active user base from 190 countries. Linardos also created Mosh.Nokia.com, one of the pioneering mobile social networking sites which built a user base of 15 million in its first six months.
