Fast-food chains like McDonald’s, Burger King Holdings and Dunkin’ Donuts are increasingly staying open all night for patrons who favor frequenting the establishments late at night or early in the morning, The Wall Street Journal reported Jan. 25.
Nearly 40% of McDonald’s U.S. outlets are now open 24 hours a day, up from 30% seven years ago. Also, a spokeswoman for Burger King said the company now has several hundred restaurants nationwide that never close.
Over the past 10 years, Dunkin' Donuts has doubled its number of 24-hour restaurants. Today, nearly a third of the chain’s 7,000-plus U.S. outlets are always open.
