Arauco Panels begins production at MDF, particleboard facility in Moncure, North Carolina, after completing purchase from Pfleiderer subsidiary Uniboard

ARAUCO, a global leader in the production of sustainable forest products, has started production at its newly acquired panel facility in Moncure, North Carolina.
Finished in 2010, the modern Moncure MDF production facility has the capacity to produce 400 cubic meters of Medium Density and High Density Fiberboard (MDF/HDF), 325 cubic meters of Particleboard (PB) and 90 cubic meters of Thermally Fused Melamine board (TFM) annually.
The Moncure plant employs some 250 full-time workers, and is among the largest private-sector employers in Chatham County.
The facility will be operated by Arauco Panels USA, LLC, a subsidiary of Arauco Wood Products, Inc. Sales and customer service will be handled through Arauco’s North American sales office in Atlanta. The plant had previously been owned by Uniboard USA, LLC, a subsidiary of the German company, Pfleiderer AG.
