Torraspapel’s Motril mill the first to secure the energy efficiency certification.
Torraspapel, part of the Lecta Group, has begun energy efficiency certification at all its manufacturing sites. The certification entails implementing an energy management system aimed at a more efficient and sustainable use of energy, thus contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Torraspapel is committed to certifying the energy management systems of all its mills before the end of 2012. The Motril (Spain) plant, which manufactures coated paper, is its first mill to obtain UNE EN 16001.
Torraspapel, a manufacturer of pulp, coated paper, base paper and specialty papers, has a total production capacity of more than 1.1 million tons. The company has invested heavily in its seven Spanish manufacturing sites, all of which have been equipped to specialize in specific product lines, with a high level of integration and technological know-how, resulting in better product knowledge, higher quality and excellent environmental positioning.
