South Korea-based KP Chemical restarted its number No. 3 purified terephthalic acid line Dec. 7 following a suspension of operations due to a power failure, Platts reported Dec. 7, citing a company source.
Platts noted that the PTA line has a capacity of 600,000 tonnes per year. KP's No. 2 PTA line, which has a capacity of 350,000 tonnes/year, was not affected by the outage.
Operational rates for both lines are about 80%-90%, Platts reported.
