Simpson Print to increase production and create 15 jobs with a $1.3-million Government of Canada investment

The demand for sustainable and eco-friendly products is growing. To help Ontario’s manufacturers and businesses in pursuit of innovative and eco-friendly solutions, our government is making strategic investments. This targeted support will create good job opportunities, while propelling Canada closer to a more sustainable future.

Today, Tim Louis, Member of Parliament for Kitchener–Conestoga, on behalf of the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced an investment of $1.3 million for Simpson Print so they can develop more products with advanced equipment, enhance their sustainable printing processes, and create 15 full-time jobs.

Family-owned Simpson Print is a leader in sustainable print manufacturing and provides an extensive range of print manufacturing capabilities for events, displays and in store signage. This investment will allow the company to future-proof its Bloomingdale facility by adding new digital technologies, including new greening features and processes, such as UV LED Curing, that will allow the company to reduce its use of hazardous chemicals, improve its carbon footprint, and support the recycling of 100 percent of its waste.

By integrating these improvements, Simpson Print will also be able to provide more in-house, end-to-end, green solutions that will help attract new retail opportunities. As a result, the company will be able to enhance its competitiveness, expand into new markets, both in Canada and the U.S., and reduce up to one ton of printing waste annually.

Through investments like these, the Government of Canada is continuing to support businesses to reduce their carbon footprint, expand their products and services, create jobs and grow southern Ontario’s economy.
