Press release: Natoo

Natoo is taking its sustainable initiatives one step further. The company that specializes in evidence-based, optimal nutrition for pets is pleased to announce it has joined the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) as a Champion level member.

The Pet Sustainability Coalition was founded in 2013 as the only independent, not-for-profit organization advancing sustainability in the global pet industry. With nearly 200 members representing producers, suppliers, manufacturers, brands, distributors and retailers, it serves as the epicenter of collaborative solutions to address social responsibility and environmental impacts.

Though new to the U.S. market, Natoo has already solidified itself as a leader in climate action. The brand’s parent company, PremieRpet, recently announced its investment in the largest solar power plant in the state of São Paulo, where Natoo’s Crunchy Biscuits and Meal Toppers/Treats will be produced using solar energy. The brand’s facility is also the first pet food factory in Latin America to receive a Gold certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.

“Sustainable practices have always been and will always be a key part of our DNA, which is why we’re proud to join the Pet Sustainability Coalition,” commented Fernando Maluf, vice president of international sales. “We’re thrilled to be amongst a network of like-minded organizations whose ongoing efforts are leading the way towards a more sustainable pet industry.”

Today, Natoo is delighted to be a benchmark for sustainability in the pet food segment. Through its parent company, the brand implements the use of reforested eucalyptus trees to generate thermal energy in its manufacturing operations. In addition to reusing rainwater by capturing it from ponds and roofs, it also promotes natural lighting in 75 percent of its spaces, manages all the residues generated in the production process and performs reverse logistics.
