The family-owned company Thimm wins the Axia Best Managed Companies Award 2022, making it one of the outstandingly managed companies in Germany for the third year in a row. The contest run by Deloitte Private, Credit Suisse, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Federation of German Industries (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie, BDI), is a quality seal for successful medium-sized companies. The awards ceremony took place on 12 May in Düsseldorf. “We are delighted to once again be among the award-winners of the Axia Best Managed Companies Award in 2022,” says Kornelius Thimm, Managing Director of Thimm Group. “We see this award as confirmation of our long-term corporate strategy and our entrepreneurial vision. This award is also an award for our employees who work with passion and know-how on a daily basis to find the best solution for our customers and therefore make a significant contribution to the success of our family business,” emphasises Thimm. The Best Managed Companies programme is a contest organised by Deloitte Private, Credit Suisse, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federal Association of German Industries and is a seal of approval for successful medium-sized companies. Its vision is to develop a national and global eco-system of outstandingly managed medium-sized companies. One significant unique selling point of Best Managed Companies is its international aspect. Best Managed Companies was created in the 1990s by Deloitte in Canada and since then it has been introduced successfully into more than 40 countries. “As a winner of the Best Managed Companies Award, Thimm has once again successfully demonstrated its outstanding corporate management. Thimm is therefore not only a benchmark for German SMEs, but also represents a strong and cautious economy in turbulent times,” explains Markus Seiz, Best Managed Company Programme Manager and Director at Deloitte Private. After two years of pandemic-related interruption, the awards ceremony was once again held as an in-person event in Düsseldorf. Holger Dunker and Kornelius Thimm accepted the award on behalf of the entire Thimm Group. All award-winners had previously been rated and determined in a multi-stage application process based on the four core award areas of strategy, productivity and innovation, culture and commitment, as well as governance and finance. A company was then only recognised as a Best Managed Company if it demonstrated high performance in all four of these areas. The companies were rated by a jury of renowned representatives from business, science and the media.
