The Make A Mark design innovation incubator is returning for a third year in 2023!. The creative platform founded by EstalAvery Dennison, and KURZ explores the limitless possibilities of sustainable luxury packaging for the beauty and fragrance, drinks, wine, and spirits, and gourmet food industries.

This year’s program features twenty renowned packaging designers from across the world who have been carefully selected and invited to submit design concepts under the theme of ‘progressive design at the intersection of sustainability, luxury and innovation’.

Designers are encouraged to reimagine what’s possible when it comes to luxury packaging design and to push the boundaries when it comes to the latest technologies and material innovations, with no budget or material constraints.

Gerard Albertí, ESTAL’s CEO, comments: "Every year gets bigger and better and our designers constantly surpass expectations when it comes to innovating with new materials and processes. We are looking forward to sharing this year’s concepts with the world.”

Vladimir Tyulpin, Avery Dennison's Market Segment Leader for Wine & Spirits says: “The right packaging design can create a memorable product image in the minds of consumers that will help drive sales and encourage customer loyalty. The designers in this year’s Make a Mark program have consistently shown that packaging design can balance beauty and elegance with sustainability goals and social purpose.”

Stéphane Royère, Head of Business Area Packaging and Print at KURZ, adds: “Make a Mark is the ideal platform for brands to get further inspiration for their products to make a difference on the shelf while decreasing the environmental impact of their packaging. The best part is that we are able to move beyond design concepts and mock-ups to production, proving the feasibility of the designs for brands.”

The 2023 design concepts have all been transformed into physical prototypes using glass from ESTAL, labeling materials from Avery Dennison and printing tools and embellishments from KURZ. These prototypes will be unveiled at Luxe Pack Monaco from 2nd to 4th October 2023 before being showcased across the world via exhibitions and a stunning special-edition book.
