Körber's Business Area Pharma continues to grow: With the acquisition of the majority stake in the printing and packaging company Rondo-Pak LLC (New Jersey, USA), Körber is expanding its capabilities in the field of packaging for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and, in particular, strengthening its market position in sustainable packaging solutions. This step follows several years of close partnership in a joint venture. The acquisition was completed with effect from 01 February 2024.

Rondo-Pak is an ideal geographic complement to be able to offer Körber's packaging solutions comprehensively in North America. Customers benefit from a wide range of high-quality pharmaceutical packaging that can be offered across continents. Körber and Rondo-Pak have had a close partnership in the form of a joint venture since 2015. With the acquisition of the majority stake, this partnership will be further strengthened and made visible in the future: Rondo-Pak will now operate on the market under the Körber brand.

Rondo-Pak is a North American printing and packaging expert that has earned the trust of renowned brands for many years, especially in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. With a diverse portfolio of printing solutions, Rondo-Pak's packaging innovations meet precise requirements for GMP compliance, anti-counterfeiting and sustainability, among others. With this integrated expertise, the North American market in particular can now be served even better from a single source – from development to the production process.

Erich Hoch, CTO & COO of the Körber Group: "With this acquisition, we are strengthening our market leadership in the field of sustainable pharmaceutical packaging and can thus support our customers even better. This is also an important step for us on the way to provide products, solutions and services more sustainable for customers."

"Rondo-Pak and Körber have enjoyed a very close business partnership for a long time," adds Joachim Hoeltz, CEO Packaging Materials in the Körber Business Area Pharma. "I am pleased that, together as a strong team we are able to significantly expand the range of our packaging solutions and international presence for our customers."

Tim Moreton, CEO of Rondo-Pak, adds: "We are very happy to be part of the Körber ecosystem. The expertise and solutions offered by our companies as well as the international positioning are an excellent match. Together, we will be able to make an important contribution to further consolidating Körber's position and offering holistic solutions to our customers worldwide."
