Rochester, NY – Diamond Packaging today announced that it has furthered its commitment to environmental transparency by disclosing its environmental impact through CDP, a global non-profit that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure platform. Diamond has disclosed through CDP since 2014, and in 2023 completed CDP’s Climate Change questionnaire.

With a record 23000+ companies disclosing through CDP in 2023, disclosing data on environmental impact is now a business norm.

Diamond’s data will be added to the most comprehensive inventory of self-reported environmental data in the world – helping to drive action through greater transparency.

By disclosing through CDP, Diamond is prepared to respond to the increasing demand for environmental transparency from financial institutions, customers and policymakers. In its disclosure, Diamond shared information on its industry-leading greenbox sustainability initiative to research, design, and implement packaging solutions that are innovative and more sustainable. The core of the initiative – designs, materials, and methods – represents a comprehensive approach to packaging that minimizes environmental impact throughout the supply chain. Through creative design, careful material selection, and best practices at the plant level, Diamond is able to minimize waste, reduce shipping costs and increase efficiencies – all of which support a sustainable use of resources and cultivate a positive emotional connection to the brand.

“By sharing its environmental data with CDP, Diamond is continuing an environmental journey that will contribute to keeping that future in sight,” said Dennis Bacchetta, director of marketing and founding member of Diamond’s Green Team. “We remain committed to producing more sustainable packaging through the use of recyclable or recycled materials and energy-efficient production methods, while reducing carbon emissions to mitigate the risks of climate change.”

“With over 23,000 businesses disclosing through CDP this year, it is clear that sustainability – and the data that underpins it – is not a ‘nice to have’, but an essential part of long-term success in the business community that is showing no sign of slowing down – nor should it,” said Sherry Madera, Chief Executive Officer at CDP.
