At the PHARM Connect Congress, the Antares Vision Group has been awarded thanks to the innovative inspection machine solution “VRI - Large Volume Blow Fill Seal Automatic Visual Inspection & Leak Detection” Antares Vision Group, technological partner of excellence in digitalization and innovation for companies and institutions with a complete ecosystem of technologies to guarantee product quality (inspection system and machines) and product traceability along the supply chain (from raw materials, to production, from distribution to the consumer), wins the 7th Central Eastern European (CEE) Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Excellence Award by PHARM Connect Congress (Warsaw, 17th-18th May) with the innovative Inspection Machine solution dedicated to Large Volume Bottles Automatic Visual Inspection & Leak Detection. The PHARM Connect is the the largest and most important pharmaceutical and biotechnology business summit in the Central Eastern European region, taking place annually with its 500+ participants from over 25 countries in the region and beyond. This award recognizes the Antares Vision Group strong commitment to guarantee pharmaceutical products quality, by designing and producing innovative inspection machines. Two of the Antares Vision Group production sites (in Parma and Vicenza, Italy) are entirely dedicated to inspection machines. This product unit counts more than 70 employees including specific R&D and QA personnel. The award-winning solution is designed and produced for a primary Polish Pharmaceutical Company and consists of an inspection machine perfectly integrated into the customer’s production line and allows to perform Visual Inspection & Lead Detection of 4 different BFS product formats. BFS containers are among the most important packaging for pharmaceuticals, and the inspection of Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) containers presents challenges because of the specific characteristics of this packaging type. Considering the international regulatory standards requirements: every single container has to be inspected all-around, gapless, and from all sides to detect defects, contamination, leaks, cosmetic flaws to the packaging and foreign particles. After an accurate evaluation of the customer’s requirements and of the specific characteristics of the packaging type, the Antares Vision Group’s Inspection Machine Product Unit designed and manufactured an in-line machine featuring advanced inspection technologies. The machine was designed with a reliable transportation system and dedicated infeed eliminating the specific risk of BFS products deformation. Thanks to dedicated lighting patterns and advanced imaging techniques, Antares Vision were able to identify even the thinnest scratches, deformed bottles, inclusions, embedded air bubbles as well as hanger defects. A deep Research & Development plan allowed to design the appropriate solution to spot particles: free moving particles, heavy particles and floating particles. Antares Vision Group tested and identified Vacuum Decay Leak Detection as the best technology to detect the presence of leaks in hermetically sealed plastic containers.
