Suzano, a global reference in the manufacture of bioproducts developed from the cultivation of eucalyptus, recognized the performance and socio-environmental performance of suppliers, contemplating partners that stood out in the practices applied to the themes of Climate and Water Security of the CDP, an independent international organization, and in the ESG audit, which is in line with the company's strategy. This was the first edition of Suzano Valoriza, an event promoted by the company on August 7th, whose objective was to celebrate the performance of partners. In the Performance category, the company evaluated companies that have a solid and relevant participation in the supply chain, that work in the supply of inputs, provision of industrial, forestry, administrative and logistical services, considering criteria of Environment, Safety, Social, Quality and level of partnership. In this category, 15 suppliers were recognized. Suzano also recognized three suppliers for excellence in ESG management and five partners who had the best practices in terms of Climate and Water Safety, and who were previously invited to report their efforts on the CDP Supply Chain platform. In 2022, the company invited 100 partners to report their socio-environmental practices, regarding the Climate theme, 91% declared their data to the CDP, and in the Water Safety category, 76% described their initiatives. The results obtained by Suzano's partners exceed the global average of supplier engagement among global CDP participants, and invited members are engaged in establishing goals and initiatives to improve their performance with support from Suzano. “The reflection of the partnerships we have established in all the links in the chain is what makes Suzano a protagonist and leader in the pulp and paper sector.
