Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) is pleased to provide notice of an upcoming Call for Proposals for its Forest Research Grants Program.

The Forest Research Grants Program supports collaborative activities that advance research, development and extension (RD&E) of benefit to Australia’s commercial forest growers.

Researchers are invited to submit proposals for new collaborative RD&E projects that advance the science of commercial forestry. RD&E priorities are articulated in the following FWPA Investment Plans:
•    Damage Agents
•    Native Forest Silviculture
•    Nutrition
•    Forest Operations and Supply Chain
•    Resource Modelling & Remote Sensing
•    Plantation Silviculture
•    Fire
•    Genetics
Note: The Soil microbiome investment plan is excluded from this call for proposals due to significant current investment.

Funded projects must commence in the 2023/24 financial year.
A follow-up notice in the coming weeks will provide further details of submission deadlines and process.

Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to engage with potential industry partners early and demonstrate meaningful industry input.
