. Having recently finalized its analysis for lactic acid derivatives produced at the company's Montmeló,
Spain
facility,
Corbion
has accomplished the daunting task of quantifying the environmental impact associated with manufacturing all lactic acid-based ingredient products in its portfolio.
With this milestone accomplishment, Corbion LCAs now cover approximately 80 percent of the products in its portfolio. The aim is to have LCA data on 100 percent of the products

A Life Cycle Assessment is a comprehensive analysis of the environmental impact of a product or process, from raw material extraction to disposal. Without conducting LCAs, it is impossible for any company to make fully informed decisions to improve the sustainability of its products.

ISO compliance, and its commitment to providing accurate and reliable data to customers, are manifestations of its dedication to transparency, scientific rigor and the use of state-of-the-art methods in its pursuit of improved sustainability.
Corbion
customers focused on product emissions receive a carbon footprint breakdown in accordance with ISO 14067; biogenic carbon dioxide uptake values are disclosed separately, along with all GHG emissions released upstream and onsite. This gives customers the option to use only the cradle-to-gate emissions value, or to also account for biogenic carbon uptake released at the end of life, based on the goals of their own study.
